Dermaplaning is an effective method of exfoliation while also a great way to remove Vellus hair of the face.

Vellus hair is the technical term for the peach fuzz hair we have on our faces. The Dermaplaning process starts when a scaple blade glides over the skin, removing the epidermis layer, which is the 1st layer of the skin. Dermaplaning helps reveal radiant, smooth skin by exfoliating away dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and excess oils. Not only does it leave your skin feeling ultra-soft, but it also refines uneven texture, creating a perfect canvas for makeup and allowing your skincare products to absorb more effectively.

Despite what people say, the hair on your face will not grow back thicker. We have 2 hair types on our bodies.

1 being terminal hair and 2 being vellus hair. We have terminal hair on our private areas, legs, underarms, etc. This hair grows back thicker once shaved. Vellus hair is grown on areas like our face, knuckles, etc. The vellus hair structure in our bodies can not grow back thicker but only grows back the same.

This process is painless and quite relaxing.

This treatment is for anyone and everyone, unless you have active acne. We would need to clear the area before proceeding with this treatment. It is recommended to book a HydraFacial or LED treatment for these people first.

What to Expect?

Mild redness is expected and completely normal. This will subside in 24-48hrs. Products may tingle more for the first few days as your skin has been deeply exfoliated. This treatment is not suitable for anyone with active acne as the bacteria can spread.

Treatment preparation

Avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds) for at least 14 days prior to treatment. Avoid sunless tanning creams or sprays on the treated area for 14 days prior.
Do not wax or use depilatory creams on the treatment areas for 14 days prior to treatment.
Please discontinue any products containing active ingredients 7 days prior to treatment, such as: Retinol (Retin-A, Tretinoin, Vitamin A), Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, AHAs (Alpha-hydroxy acids), LHAs (Lipo hydroxy acids) and Benzoyl Peroxide. Avoid hydroquinone for 3 days before your treatment.

Treatment Aftercare

Vigorous physical activity should be avoided until all redness has subsided.
Wait 3-4 days or untill redness has subsidded and skin doesnt feel ensitive, then apply normal ksincare ingredients
Avoid scratching and itching as scarring and pigmentation complications can occur
Direct sunlight exposure is to be completely avoided immediately following the treatment (including any strong UV light exposure or tanning beds). Although SPF 30+ should already be a part of your daily skin care, after dermaplaning, SPF 30+ must be applied daily to the treated area for a minimum of two weeks.
If you have additional questions or concerns regarding your treatment or suggested home regimen, you will consult your esthetician immediately.
